The One Where It All Began

It’s difficult. Taking a leap of faith is extremely difficult. No clue how people find it all so easy.

The past four months has been weird. It’s been rocky, exhilarating and stressful. Now as the project nears completion and we begin anew today I want you to know where I am at.
I’ll tell you why - Without you this will not work. We are in this together.
Since the inception of the idea of migrating to a fully functional website from a blog, I’ve been seen our vision shake and wander around quite a bit. That happened for primarily two reasons -
1) It took quite a while.
2) A lot of things happened simultaneously and my judgment was particularly clouded.
But here is where it stands - The Wall and Us is a place for and by the lonely.
After months of extensive research, I’ve understood something. Loneliness and being lonely is very different. Loneliness isn’t a choice. Being lonely is.
No matter what you are going through you shouldn’t have to go through it alone like I did.
I hope we are able to create an encyclopedia of human emotions so that you can truly connect on a deeper level with someone else.

Empathy has evolved. Today you can feel deeply for a human being 3000 miles away in some other continent. Human connections have changed.
It’s time we understand that. And just embrace and accept it.

Because you’ll be nothing short of a hypocrite if you truly believe social media and the likes are ruining all of us.

WHAT CAN YOU DO HERE?

We hope you can forge some new and meaningful relationships here. We hope you can find some closure here. We hope you can relate to someone else here. We hope you don’t have to adapt to belong here.
We hope you can find some peace here.
And we hope you don’t have to keep up that wall you’ve had to create around you.

This is what the site lets you do -
1) Let you be anonymous throughout it.
2) Share your story and hopefully reach another you who is going through the same.
3) The-Safe Haven is a place where you can share what’s on your mind or whatever is bothering you without any judgment or inhibitions whatsoever. Our community will try and help you or offer advice.
4) The Chat Widget - To offer support or to get access to a listener who’ll listen to you or maybe talk to you, we’ll try and have back-end users on notice.
We are still figuring this out - How to use and employ it to provide an all-round enriching human connection.

I’ve already said this in this, yet, I feel like I should say it again. There is a need for this. We’re closer than ever yet so far apart that at times it’s downright painful.

We need to make some real connections.

I hope this helps.

I hope we can make a real difference in this world.

Together.
