Weekly Review | Let’s Start Celebrating What Makes Us Tick.

I’ve been up to a lot lately.

And the best thing – The place the website is at right now, it’s almost running on auto-pilot.

All I’ve had to do lately is approve contributions.

So, let me begin, again, by thanking you from the bottom of my heart.

You’ve made this happen.

This is literally the first thing I’ve had to write in the past two-three weeks.

Also, every single contribution that pours in makes my heart leap around in my chest.

These are people – Their thoughts, real stories, things that move them, things that make them tick.

And every week I see a surge in people willing to accept it as something that’s okay.

Despite the overflow of contributions, we’ve actually seen a fall in traffic lately.

Part of this is my fault.

I’ve been too involved in a lot of things, and I’ll continue to, over the next month.

#YouMatterProject has completed a month by the way.

My friends and I have started the 300 Random Letters Challenge.

The idea is to write anonymous letters to random strangers or someone you love and care about.

We do this over a period of one month.

This challenge has only just begun.

Super stoked to see how it pans out over the month.

We’ve completed around 200 chats by now.

The stories that I and the listeners have heard are nothing short of unimaginable.

There is something I do have to say here – There is too much pain in this world.

I am just so very happy that we’ve been able to lessen some of it.

Oh and before I forget, did you know that The Echo of India, Midday (Mumbai) and Sukhabar (Calcutta) have run a piece on us?

Yes! And this is just the beginning.

Trust me.

It is.

You have no idea what’s coming next.

Lastly, The Wall and Us Issue 1 is coming out soon.

I recently met with the artist who has agreed to, very kindly, do our cover.

I’ll keep you posted as and when more information comes in.

Tell me if this sounds familiar –

1) I don’t think I’ll ever find love!

2) I don’t want to open up because I am worried that the world will judge me!

3) Who really listens these days!

4) There is no point in opening up. People won’t get it.

So, this part, right here, is a desperate plea to the person reading this.

Let’s start celebrating what makes us who we are.

Maybe that little curve that your friend can’t get rid of.

That weird little bald spot on your head that you’re so very conscious about.

If you’re passionate about something, tell the world about it.

Speak out.

With the advent of social media, internet activism is on the rise.

If there is something that bothers you, let the world know about it.

Tell your friends and family how you feel, what you’re passionate about, what drives you, your ambitions, and everything else that makes you who you are.

Let’s start celebrating what makes us different.

Conversely, let’s start being a little more kind.

If someone reaches out to YOU, take it as an honour, and give them a little time.

Stop this online bashing!

Recently, I was scrolling through my Facebook Feed and I stumbled across this status from a young 16-year-old girl who was openly bashing people who cry and cringe after their breakup.

She was sixteen.

As I reached out to her and explained how her words might come across to someone who was going through a tough time, I was met with an indifferent response.

We need to be a little more accepting.

We need to be a little kinder.

We need to accept people in pain.

We need to start accepting vulnerability.

That’s all from me this week folks.

Until next time.
